First, Joe Wilson heckled the President as he spoke to a joint session of Congress. Now Joe didn't say anything that most Americans wouldn't like to yell at our President or any member of Congress for that matter... but he's one of them! (gasp) The proverbial 'pot calling the kettle black' scenario...if ever there was one. It was rude, he shouldn't have done it...doesn't matter that he's right or a Republican.
Then comes Kanye West...snatching the spotlight from poor teenager Taylor Swift. What makes him think we care who he thinks should have won anyway? His rudeness cost him 3 spots on the teenager's iPod...too bad I've already paid for the stinking songs.
How about Serena Williams? While getting her rather scary...excuse me, that's rude...she's getting beat at the U.S. Open and unloads on a line judge over a toe fault call that results in a point penalty...which is match point! Bet her dad had something to say about her behavior in the national spotlight...in the form of a few shots at the line judge himself. No way it was Serena's fault...
In the famous words of Rodney King (LAPD beating victim in case you're still mentally blocking the early 90's from memory...like me):

You know, there a lot things that come our way -- may be we ought to throw them back - Kanye West there's an example. I have to say, I do agree with Obama on that one. He is a jack @s$.
Here is the standard - can any of us measure up?

The public schools teach our children that they are nothing but animals and then wonder why they behave like them. They fight to keep God out and then promote 'pillars of character' which are impossible to attain without Him, much less make any sense to anyone who has 'evolved.' Several generations now have become helplessly chained to their most primitive urges. But Jesus was annointed to bring good news to the afflicted, proclaim liberty to the captives, and freedom to prisoners. It is in Him alone where hope is found. We must proclaim His gospel, which is the power of God for salvation. Only then we will see evidence of changed hearts and lives.
I gotta agree with you that society certainly seems more rude. I have 2 teen sons and the lyrics of the music they listen to-oh my goodness. Just today I reminded my 15yr old that it's not hypocritical not to use certain word when around his mom - it's respectful.
But then I've got to ask myself - Do I model respect? Sure I don't yell or curse at people and am not one to lose my cool in public, but are there subtle ways I'm disrespectful? Definitely something worth thinking about.
When it's all said and done I'm grateful for God's grace and goodness. Grateful for that rain that falls on the just and unjust ('cuz though I'd like to count myself among the just, truth is sometimes I'm in the other group!)
The video was national headlines. So cute and typical of kids. We can learn volumes from them.
Like Chris said today we have so many forces that feel it is ok to spew out insults and rudness. It is being taught in the schools, sports, TV and the news media.We do need God back in all walks our our lives.
